Sunday Morning Bible Study - New Adult Formation Classes Beginning April 7 in this Easter Season

Lectionary Bible Study

We are excited to invite you to join a new adult bible study class, starting on Sunday, April 7.

We will be following the Lectionary and studying scripture passages that will be part of that Sunday’s worship service. If you would like to read ahead, you can find the scriptures in your St. James calendar on the back of the month's page; in any Prayer Book published since the revision of 2015, starting on page 901; or online at https://www.lectionarypage.net/

Tom Cook will facilitate the discussion weekly. Drop in 9:30am Sunday mornings. We will be meeting in the prayer chapel room, just beyond the St. Anne’s room, back by the copy machine.

Episcopal Beliefs and Practices

An 8-week course intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the beliefs and practices of the Anglican/Episcopal tradition. It is ideal for those who are newer to the tradition and those who are interested in being confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church.

The course will use the book Walk in Love by Scott Gunn and Melody Wilson Schobe as its primary text. In addition to reading, we will have four Zoom meetings at 7:00pm on Thursday evenings (4/11, 4/25, 5/9, and 5/23), and one 3-hour workshop on Saturday, May 18th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. We will also participate in reflective self-paced exercises, and make space to gather in dialogue on Sundays at coffee hour in the Parish Hall. The course will conclude just prior to the next Diocesan Confirmation service this year, which is scheduled for June 2nd at 2:00pm at the Cathedral of St. Philip.
We will be meeting in the Conference Room,

Please let Mother Megan know if you are interested in being part of this course at curate@stjamesmarietta.com
