The St. James' Charities account was established to assist parishioners and non-parishioners who need assistance with rent and utilities.  Funds for medicine and some special needs can be offered with the approval of the Director or the Deacon.  Assistance to non-parishioners is provided on a once-a-year basis.
The St. James' Charities account policies are made for the Rector by a committee that consists of the Deacon, the Outreach Vestry Rrepresentative, the Outreach Chair, and the Parish Secretary.  The Charities budget is provided from the Kathryn Withers and Esther Walker Memorial Funds, and from a percentage of the Christmas and Easter Offerings, voted on by the Outreach Committee.
