Choirs at Saint James'
There are many opportunities to participate more fully in worship, to learn about music and our worship, and to serve as ministers and leaders in worship. Singers and instrumentalists of all levels of ability and experience are welcome. There's a choir for you here at Saint James'! Read more to find out just how you, too, can be a part of Saint James' Music Program.
The Adult Choir is an ensemble of women and men ages 18 and older. This choir sings a wide variety of choral literature, works from the Renaissance through the 21st century, at the 11:15 a.m. Sunday Eucharist, and at Holy Days and Choral Evensongs throughout the year.

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 8:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Service of Lessons and Carols

Some treble and alto members of the Choir of Girls, Boys,
and Adults (GBA), with members of the Preparatory Choir.
The Choir of Girls, Boys and Adults is a mixed ensemble of girls and boys, grades 5 through 12, and adult trebles, altos, tenors, and baritones. This choir sings at the 9:00 a.m. Sunday service, and at other Holy Day services and Choral Evensongs throughout the year.

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:45 p.m. until 7:45 p.m.
The Preparatory Choir provides singers in grades 3 and 4 with musical training and experience which readies them for participation in the Choir of Girls, Boys, and Adults. The Preparatory Choir participates regularly in worship.

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The Super Singers is a choir for our younger singers, grades 1 and 2, who learn fundamental musical skills and also participate regularly in worship as a part of their Christian formation.

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.



The Celebration Singers and Band is an intergenerational group of singers and instrumentalists of all ages who provide music for the Saturday 5:30 p.m. Eucharist. This service features a variety of musical styles, including gospel, folk, jazz, and contemporary music.

Rehearsals are on Saturdays from 4:30 p.m. until 5:15 p.m.

The Handbell Choir rings the parish's 3-octave set of Schulmerich handbells and 3-octave set of hand chimes. The Handbell Choir plays regularly in Sunday liturgies throughout the year, and on other special occasions, including our annual Service of Advent Lessons and Carols.

Rehearsals are on Mondays from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.


The Brass Choir
is a group of Junior and Senior High School and adult instrumentalists. The group provides music for special occasions throughout the year.

Rehearsals are scheduled as needed, prior to performances.
