- March 10 Dr. Laura Dabundo will speak on “Early Christianity in Asia Minor/ Anatolia” In the spring of 2009, Laura Dabundo was part of a Kennesaw State faculty seminar that traveled to and across the country of Turkey, in conjunction with KSU’s Year of Turkey program. One of the most interesting features was to see the traces of early Christianity and early Judaism (Abraham, Job, John, and Paul) beneath the Islamic overlay. Two world faiths came together for a time in Greek Anatolia/Roman Asia Minor before being swept up in Muslim winds, but the legacy abides and is fascinating and instructive to us today. Laura Dabundo is a professor of English at Kennesaw State University, where she has been for more than 22 years, exactly as long as she has been a communicant at St. James. Her education was all in Pennsylvania (Bucknell, Bryn Mawr, and Temple). And she is a published scholar in English Romanticism, especially Wordsworth, Jane Austen, and Irish novelist Sydney Owenson, Lady Morgan.
- March 13, Film and Faith, will view the movie "Best Years of our Lives" in Room 205. Discussion after.

March 17 John Gentile will speak on “Celtic Spirituality: Fact, Fiction, and Living Myth” Many people have turned to Celtic Spirituality in recent years finding in the tales of the old Celtic gods and the early saints a magic sadly missing in the modern faiths. This program looks at contemporary beliefs based on Celtic traditions by considering both Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism and Celtic Christianity and asks: Can we separate historic fact from present yearning? John S. Gentile is Professor and Chair of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Performance Studies from Northwestern University and His M.A. in Mythological Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute. He has traveled extensively in Ireland, where he has led study/tours in Irish mythology and coordinates a study abroad program in partnership with the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin.

March 27 & 28 Palm Sunday Services - Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week. It focuses our attention on the forthcoming "Passion" of our Lord; that is, on the spiritual, emotional and physical sufferings he endured during the last week of his earthly life - with particular emphasis on the events from the Last Supper to the Crucifixion. The Liturgy of the Palms will be read from the front porch at the Saturday 5:30 p.m. service and Sunday, 7:45 a.m. service; it will be read in the Church Street courtyard at the 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services on Sunday.
7 p.m. Stations of the Cross - Parish Hall - Stations of the Cross is a service of prayers and pictures depicting the final hours of Jesus' life.
It is a special way to reflect upon the passion and death of Christ.
This is a time when we remember Jesus' Last Supper and the institution of the Eucharist.
Maundy Thursday 9 p.m. Vigil "Will you not watch with me one hour?" This is the question our Lord asked of his disciples on the night
before he was crucified. We will observe a silent prayer vigil beginning at the end of the Maundy Thursday service, all through the night
ending at noon on Good Friday. Please sign up for one hour - sign up sheet is in the Narthex.

Ongoing events at St. James'
Lines form early each morning, even during last week's sub-freezing temperatures, at social service programs like the Center for Family Resources and MUST Ministries where we take our donations. CFR's Carolyn Bridges said the program used to have peak months when people came for help. Now, the demand lasts all year long. Help us continue this vital ministry by picking up a few extra cans or a case at the grocery store. Here are some items that will help feed hungry families: peanut butter, canned meat, rice, beans, pasta, pasta sauce, canned vegetables and fruit, dried milk, cereal and chunky soups. Please consider buying cans with the peel off top (homeless folks don't have can openers). Thanks for your help. Tucker McQueen
