Guest Speakers
The
Rev. William L. Evans, baptized in Trinity
Episcopal Church Paw Paw, Michigan January 1945. Confirmed
at all Saint's East Lansing Michigan May fo 1957. Married
to Karen P. Adler December 1967 in the First Presbiterian
Church of Oyster Bay New York. Ordained in Detroit June
15, 1974. Fr.
Evans currently is the Interim Rector of Holy Cross in Decatur
Georgia. In this calling, he begins his eleventh
interim. He has served as a priest in the Dioceses of Michigan,
Missouri, Virginia, Washington, and Atlanta. After 18 years
as associate and rector he moved to the specialized calling
of the Interim ministry. Fr. Evans became a spiritual director in 1988 and has
led numerous groups since that time. He continues to see
individuals for spiritual direction. He will be the leader of the Men's retreat in the Fall
of 2004. Scott Mills, George Hoyt and Andy Lewis are also
working as leaders of a steering committee for the retreat.
Dr.
Roberta C. Bondi is Professor of Church History at
Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Atlanta,
Georgia. She is the author of Memories of God: Theological
Reflections on a Life, In Ordinary Time: Healing the Wounds
of the Heart, and A Place to Pray: Reflections of the Lord’s
Prayer.
Kathy
Holman is a graduate of the Shalem Institute
Spiritual Guidance program, 1993-1995 and a member
of Spiritual Directors
International. She has a BA in philosophy and religion
and has completed the four-year EFM program. She has also
completed a four-day workshop on Centering Prayer with
Abbot Basil Pennington. Kathy has served the Atlanta Episcopal
Diocese as the President of the Daughters of the King,
has been an active member of the Diocesan Commission for
Spiritual Formation, and is now serving as chair of this
commission. As a member of the commission, she has served
on staff for diocesan clergy and lay retreats and has also
taught the Shalem Peer Supervision model to participants
of Dr. John Westerhoff’s spiritual studies program. Kathy
is currently co-director of Omega Point as well as a practicing
spiritual director for individuals and groups. She has
participated in study trips to Israel, Turkey, Norwich
(England), Spain, New Mexico, Lindesfarne, Iona, and Ireland.
In the summer of 2002, she received a Compestela by walking
the Camino de Santiago in Spain. She is a communicant at
St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, Dunwoody, GA.
